WOMEN’S MINISTRY: WOMEN OF PURPOSE

At Open Doors Baptist Church, our Women of Purpose ministry is a dynamic and faith-filled community dedicated to nurturing the spiritual, emotional, and social needs of women—young and old. We are a sisterhood that walks together through every season of life, encouraging one another to grow in grace, lead with confidence, and serve with compassion.

Through Bible studies, mentorship, prayer, and meaningful fellowship, we offer support and guidance to help every woman become all that God created her to be. Whether you are seeking spiritual growth, connection, or purpose, this ministry welcomes you with open arms.

Our Mission & Focus

Spiritual Growth: Weekly and monthly Bible studies, devotionals, and discipleship.
Sisterhood & Support: Safe spaces for discussion, prayer, and personal encouragement.
Empowerment: Seminars and mentorship programs that help women lead and serve confidently.
Community Impact: Outreach projects, charitable giving, and support for those in need.
Celebration & Care: Honoring moments like Mother’s Day, supporting one another in times of joy and sorrow, and organizing retreats, social events, and wellness activities.

Our Women of Purpose also partner with charitable organizations, promoting social well-being and bringing practical hope to the wider community. Through seminars, conferences, and social activities, we help women find strength, healing, and belonging in Christ.

Our Heritage

Founded in the early 2000s as Downs Women Fellowship, this ministry has grown from a few passionate women to a vibrant, multi-generational force in our church. We’ve served faithfully through:

Prayer and counseling ministries
Keep-fit sessions and mental wellness support
Outreach to the elderly and shut-in
Winter night shelter service
Christmas hamper donations
Spiritual mentoring and intergenerational fellowship

Meetings are held every third Sunday after service, with special Saturday breakfast gatherings throughout the year. We also love honest, life-giving conversations on topics relevant to women today.
