For New Members
- What time are the worship services? Our Sunday service starts at 10 AM- 12pm prompt.
- Where is the church located? We are at Open Doors Baptist, Downs Road, Clapton London, E5 8DS. The main church entrance is right on the corner of Downs Road and Queensdown Road junction opposite Hackney Downs Park.
Transport links are good in the surrounding area whether by bus, bicycle or car with parking available outside the building. The nearest mainline rail stations are Hackney Central and Hackney Downs which are 10 minutes walking distance from our premises.
- Do I need to be a member to attend? Absolutely not! Everyone is welcome to worship and fellowship with us. The service structure starts with worship, prayer, sharing and a word of ministration.
- What should I wear to church? Come as you are! Whether formal or casual, we care more about your heart than your outfit.
- Is childcare available during services? Yes! We offer a safe and engaging children’s ministry during worship for ages 0-12.
- How do I become a member? If you’d like to officially join, we encourage that you firstly attend regularly and then when ready discuss membership with one of the church leaders. The aim being to help you learn more about our beliefs and community as well you helping us know more about you too.
- Is the church open all the time? No! Most activity in the building happens during Sunday Service time. However, on special occasions the building may be open by arrangement. So far as the building is open, we welcome visitors to pop in, which happens from time as they have found the architecture is beautiful and the history of the building is so appealing.
For Existing Members
- How can I get involved in serving? We have various opportunities to serve as the church needs many labourers. We recognize and commit to strengthen your gift of service in whatever capacity to the glory of God. There is an urgent need in the areas of worship, welcoming, hospitality, outreach, pastoral visitation and youth ministry,. Visit our Volunteer page to sign up.
- How do I submit a prayer request? You can submit prayer requests through our Prayer Request Form on the website, or speak to a church leader in person.
- Are there small groups or Bible studies I can join? Yes! We have a weekly bible study online via ZOOM on Fridays at 7:30pm- 9pm. The details of the topic and login are currently shared via WhatsApp. If you would like to join us. Check our Connect page for details.
- How can I give tithes and offerings? You can give in person during service, online via our Giving page, or set up a Standing Order with your Bank using the Church Account Details.
- Who should I contact for pastoral care or counseling? If you need support or guidance, our Church Leaders are here for you. Reach out through the Contact Us page or call [Insert Phone Number].
- How can I stay updated on church events? Follow our social media, sign up for our newsletter, or check the Events Calendar on our website.
